Project Description

The Port of Corpus Christi is developing a new 1650 acre deep draft ocean La Quinta Terminal. It is located where only the Union Pacific can access the new terminal. The Port is interested in having multiple carrier rail access the terminal and ERS has worked to develop alternatives for this to occur.  A general concept for rail operation has been developed to provide BNSF direct access with accommodation for UPRR to access the La Quinta Terminal from their San Antonio mainline. Rail alignments have been developed to reduce impacts to the cities of Sinton and Odem. Multiple alternatives for phased construction to match train volume increases have been prepared. The project is currently going through internal review and an ERS team has been chosen to provide NEPA level clearance for the project.
